Loren W. Montanye, age 96, of Gloversville, passed away on
Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Wilkinson Resident Healthcare
Facility, Amsterdam after a long illness.
He was born on June 18, 1916 in Johnstown, a son of the late
Ervin Montanye and Delia Hayward Montanye.
Loren was employed for many years as a Night Watchman at
Milligan & Higgins in Johnstown. He was a member of the Church
of God in Schenectady and was an avid fisherman and farmer.
On July 10, 1953, he was united in marriage to Sarah Person
Montanye who passed on May 10, 1979.
Mr. Montanye is survived by his two daughters Karolyn (John)
Miller and Sarah Lorraine Montanye, one brother Roger Montanye and
several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his
siblings James Montanye and Eleanor Baker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM on Monday,
January 28th at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 East Main
Street, Johnstown with Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Friends
and relatives may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral
home.
Interment will follow at Fern Dale Cemetery,
Johnstown.
